Intrigue Chat House Rules: Keep the Mystery, Lose the Drama

The ten House Rules at Intrigue Chat, explained in plain English.

An adult reading community rules before entering online chat.

Keep the mystery. Lose the drama. That’s the whole idea behind the House Rules at Intrigue Chat. There are ten of them, and they exist so everyone can relax, flirt and make friends without worrying about harassment, scams or worse.

This guide walks through each rule in plain English. The official House Rules on the main site always take priority, and staff have the final say.

1. Nothing illegal. No violence. Zero tolerance.

No child exploitation, no illegal content, no threats of violence, no bestiality.

  • No media of any kind (pictures, GIFs, videos or sounds) containing children or child themes. Posting it once gets a warning; a second time gets a ban.
  • Anything sexual involving minors is an instant permanent ban, and we contact law enforcement.

2. 18+ only

Everyone here must be an adult. Don’t role play as a minor, and if you suspect someone is underage, report them right away. Any account we believe belongs to someone under 18 is closed immediately.

3. Respect everyone

Mind your manners. Think before you type: would you say it to their face? Respect people’s boundaries, and their personal faith and beliefs. No means no, in the room and in private messages.

4. No harassment, bullying or hate

No harassment, bullying, prejudice, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any other hurtful speech. Repeatedly targeting someone, in public or in private, ends in a ban.

5. Protect privacy. No doxing.

Don’t share your own or anyone else’s personal information: addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, real names or socials. Never post someone’s photos or messages without their consent.

Trust takes time online. If someone asks for your socials on day one, be careful, hun. Don’t get catfished.

6. Keep media appropriate

No illegal, hateful, racist, sexist or disrespectful media. Follow the room’s own rules about what can be posted, and don’t post graphic content where it isn’t welcome.

7. No spam, scams or ads

No flooding, repeated messages or advertising other sites. Never ask other members for money, gifts or payment details. Anyone who does is a scammer until proven otherwise; report them.

8. Listen to staff

Owners, the Inner Circle and Room Keepers are here to keep things running smoothly. Follow their directions in the moment. If you disagree, take it up privately or through the Contact Us page, not in the room.

9. One account. No ban evasion.

Don’t make new accounts or use a VPN to get around a mute, kick or ban. It gets every account you own banned.

10. Use common sense, and report problems

If something feels wrong, it probably is. Trust your gut. Use the report button on profiles and messages, or tell a member of staff. Every report gets reviewed.

What happens if someone breaks the rules?

Staff look at every situation on its own. Depending on how serious it is, that can mean a reminder, a warning, a mute, a kick from the room, or a ban. Anything involving minors gets a permanent ban and a report to law enforcement. If an account is banned, any VIP time, Gold and Rubies on it are lost, with no refund.

How to report a problem

  • Use the report button on the person’s profile or on the message.
  • Tell an owner or any member of staff.
  • Block the person if you don’t want to hear from them again.
  • Stay calm and don’t retaliate. It makes it harder for staff to help.

Frequently asked questions

Do the House Rules apply in private messages?

Yes. Harassment, scams, sharing other people’s content and anything involving minors are banned everywhere on the site, including private messages.

Can I advertise my social media or another site?

No. Advertising other sites counts as spam, and sharing socials puts your privacy at risk.

I think a staff decision was wrong. What can I do?

Take it up privately with an owner, or use the Contact Us page. Not in the room.

Can I use a VPN?

Not to get around a mute, kick or ban. That gets every account you own banned.
